wolf teeth forest; This forest used to go by a different name, but now it's only remembered as wolf teeth forest. The name comes from a pack of wolfdogs that were dumped here by their owners a hundred years ago now. They were high content wolfdogs with only a drop of dog blood, but people visiting the forest had no way of knowing they were friendly. At some point a man was bitten by one of the hybrids, and the forest was shut down to visitors. It's a coniferous forest, completely overgrown and easy to disappear in for weeks. There's no shortage of prey and places to dig a nice den.

acer falls; - 1 Viewing High in the mountains sits a small waterfall. An asphalt road runs almost all the way to the clearing, ending in a small parking lot. The waterfall itself isn't very tall, only about fifty feet dropping into a lake. The lake was once a gathering place, many people spending their hot summer evenings swimming and partying. A ranger's station and a small visitors center sit about a hundred feet from the waterfall, but they were abandoned long ago. On hot days the remaining few locals come out and enjoy the cool air.

the highlands; - 1 Viewing The Highlands is a planned community about an hour from the city. It was mid-construction when the plague hit, and growth was halted. Still, it's an impressive structure that houses a lot of wildlife. A town hall of sorts stands at the center, surrounded by a few shops and crumbling asphalt roads lead to fine houses. Many were occupied until recently, but they now stand empty. If you search hard enough through the weeds, you can find an impressive garden and an orchard that attract all sorts of prey.

fox lane farms; Fox Lane Farms was once a famous Thoroughbred farm. They raised several champion race horses, and continued to do so until just a few years ago when the owner passed away. The majority of the horses jumped the fences and disappeared, but a few still lurk around the barn in hopes they'll be fed at some point. The main barn is massive and boasts forty stalls. It is just beginning to decay, while several other small stables and an arena are spread across the property.

rain shadow; On the opposite side of the mountains as the ocean is a vast rain shadow. This area receives very little rain, and as such it is nearly a desert. Sage and other scrub plants, along with short trees do still survive here. Wild horses make this area their home, and even some exotics let loose from zoos have established a population here. Many dogs try to avoid this area, but some packs have been known to use this place as a proving ground of sorts for adolescents.
